Foreign Prisoners of War and Internees of World War II in the Azerbaijan SSR in 1944–1950: number, location, mortality rate of the contingent

The article analyses the materials about camps of the GUPVI NKVD (MVD) of the USSR, labor battalions of the NKO (MOD) of the USSR and special hospitals of the NKZ (MOH) of the USSR. The number and location of institutions for prisoners of war and internees are determined; the dates of the beginning and completion of their functioning are indicated. The article presents the information on the number of prisoners of war and internees in the territory of the Azerbaijan SSR, their labor use, mortality rate and the current condition of burial sites.
