On the Issue of Interaction between the Soviet Authorities and the Polish Military and Political Underground at the End of the Second World War (On the Article by D. Rogut “The Attitude of Soviet Security Organs to the Home Army (July 1944 – January 1945)

The article analyses the interaction between the Soviet authorities and the Home Army at the end of the Second World War, from positive episodes in military cooperation to complete rupture and arrests of soldiers and officers who belonged to the Home Army detachments. The author examines the reasons for the commencement of repressive actions of the Soviet side
against the Polish political underground and concludes that the actions of both the Polish and the Soviet sides were caused by an attempt to ensure national and state interests by creating a zone of safe territories near their borders.
