History of the Gulag in regional dimension: the view of contemporary researchers

The introductory article announces the materials of the new issue of the journal Historia Provinciae – the Journal of Regional History that are devoted to the history of the Gulag viewed in the regional dimension. Based on the overview of the articles included in the issue, the views of researchers on the phenomenon of Soviet repressive punitive camp system existing in contemporary Russian historiography are shown.
